As a well known maritime country with around 6000km of the coast (which includes the coast of islands and peninsulas), Croatia has a quite a reputation as a place where sailing has a history and is a beloved hobby (plus an Olympic sport!) among many of its inhabitants.
The first sailing company in Croatia was founded in 1876. on Krk island, a first sailing competition was held in 1930.
And from then, since the 30s, Croatia had its representatives in the Olympics and other world competitions with envious results continuing to this day.
