Fun, delicious food, unique events, art, and a truly festive atmosphere await you on the streets of the capital. Expect a handful of pleasant surprises and a rich music program.

In addition to the traditional locations that will shine again this year, the Zagreb Tourist Board and partners have prepared new programs for numerous visitors and citizens. The novelty is the Film Advent on Tuškanac. As part of it, the Tuškanac Cinema will screen Christmas movies for all ages. There is also an Advent at the Croatian National Theater with completely new set design and concept and Advent under the lantern, as part of which the choir will accompany the lighters burning gas lamps in the Upper Town.

Zrinjevac Christmas Fair is one of Zagreb’s favorite and the magical ice park in King Tomislav Square is the largest and most beautiful ice rink in this part of Europe.

The Advent’s leitmotif is the Nutcracker, so at various checkpoints in the city, you have the opportunity to see and take photos alongside the large sculptures of the Nutcracker.

The Oktogon passage and other locations are decorated with Croatian traditional ornaments and Nutcrackers, in keeping with this year’s Advent theme.

From the most beautiful balconies in Zagreb, tunes from the six-member tin-blower band Ad gloriam brass come in, bringing holiday joy to the colorful city streets.

A real Christmas spell will also take place in Zagreb’s museums. The Escape Room Nutcracker at the Museum of Arts and Crafts will delight all fans of this popular ballet. You can experience the everyday life of the Zagreb family from the ’80s in the festive atmosphere at the Zagreb Museum in the ’80s; Gallery Bačva, HDLU will delight you with “Pay and Carry” exhibition, and St. Nicholas and interesting workshops await you at the Zagreb City Museum. Art lovers will also enjoy the holiday program of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery and the Forum Gallery, and Alexander Calder’s “Magic of the Sculptural Movement” is exhibited at the Art Pavilion.
