The date of Davis Cup semifinals is approaching and it will take place on September 14th till 16th in the wonderful city of Zadar.
Croatia will host USA in the World Group semifinals, with an eye on continuing its undefeated streak against the Americans in Davis Cup.

Croatia has won all four of the previous meetings between the two nations – in 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2016, with Zeljko Krajan’s men completing a thrilling comeback from 0-2 down in their most recent clash in the quarterfinals in Portland two years ago.

USA is looking to reach the Davis Cup Final for the first time since winning the title in 2007, while 2005 champion Croatia is looking to reach the final for the second time in three years and the third time overall. The guys are working hard and they know how supportive the whole Croatian nation is when it comes to the success of our athletes, no matter the final result (remember FIFA World Cup only two months ago?).

But Davis Cup semifinals isn’t the only news in the world of tennis. While most of us were vacationing during summer, the Croatian Tennis Association had a big decision to make – a new president! And although these kind of decisions are nothing but easy, the whole assembly of the Association reached a unanimous decision by putting Nikolina Babić on the top of the Croatian Tennis Association.
This is a special occasion not only because of Mrs.Babić has to seriously devote her time in managing everything related to upcoming Davis Cup semifinals, but she is also the first woman on this respected position.
Mrs. Babić stated “This is a great honor and obligation. We’ll have to work a lot. I will insist on a system, teamwork, and responsibility. The profession will be in the foreground. Our priority is to bring the kids back to the tennis courts and organize their own tournaments. Work and children are number one and the main message will be to return tennis to the Croatian Tennis Association, where everyone is welcome.”
