The Salon (French: Salon), or rarely Paris Salon (French: Salon de Paris beginning in 1667 [1], was the official art exhibition of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Between 1748 and 1890, it was arguably the most significant annual or biennial art event in the Western world. At the 1761 Salon, thirty-three painters, nine sculptors, and eleven engravers contributed. [2] From 1881 onward, it has been managed by the Société des Artistes Français.

‘I wrote my biography, described the story I create, prepare a photograph of a sculpture of a sailing ship, and sent it to Paris. My work was recognized by the expert commission of the Paris Salon. The Paris Salon is the dream of every artist … One of the most beautiful and greatest things an artist can experience. The success of the Paris Salon speaks of its maintenance for more than 100 years and artists who were recognized at that Salon, such as Picasso, Matisse, Rodin, Gauguin … It is great recognition for my work so far and speaks of the seriousness of what I create.

I am sincerely grateful to the expert commission of the Paris Salon, which recognized me. I’ve never been to France. Behind me, ‘there are no connections and acquaintances, in fact, minimal financial resources and difficult working conditions, but I am recognized. I hope that’s my entrance ticket to a narrow circle of the world’s best artists through this ‘big door’. I am grateful to all the right people who have supported me in all these years.
It’s my turning point, the wind in my ‘stone sails.’ says Mate Turić.

Mate Turić has a master’s degree in sculpture, with over 40 solo exhibitions in stone, and recognizable taxes on non-stone sculptures of sailing ships have become his trademark. Stone sculptures of sailing vessels are a symbol of hope, freedom, togetherness, love, connection, and strength. He won the Artists On Globe Award for Best Young Artist. Mate Turić – Mata CROata creates his world of sculptures connected into a manuscript whole, a fleet of different models of sailing ships.
An impressive number of Matina’s sculptures, that 33-year-old artist, deserves an invitation from the famous Paris Salon.
