Near the city of Zagreb, close to every heart

It’s easier for two – that’s why Zagreb Tourist Board and the Krapina-Zagorje County Tourist Board collaborate in the campaign “Near the city, close to the heart” in which Zagreb and Zagorje are promoted together for the first time through a unique destination campaign.

“Near the city, close to the heart”

The focus of the campaign is on staying outdoors, in greenery and nature, with the eno-gastronomic offer and historical heritage. As a result, there is a promotional film and websites with various itineraries and ideas for trips that naturally connect Zagreb and Zagorje.

Choose the Gastronomic Routes of Zagreb and Zagorje, spend a fun and active weekend in Zagreb and Zagorje. The section ‘Did you know?’ is interesting, revealing that more than 75% of Zagreb’s area is covered by green areas and that at least one of the 45 city parks is located in each neighborhood, as well as other attractions. Video recipes of the traditional cuisine of Zagreb and Krapina-Zagorje County are presented.

The invitation for the neighbors

The campaign “Near the city, close to the heart” is launched in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Germany, northern Italy, Slovenia, and Serbia. All materials and websites are linguistically adapted to individual markets.

“We believe that the overlaps of emitting markets of both destinations complement each other extremely well in creating a better and richer offer for all future guests of our destinations with a tendency to extend their stay in Zagreb and Zagorje, especially since Zagorje “leans” on Zagreb and is very good road connection for two most important tourist destinations in the continental part of Croatia.” agreed the director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, Martina Bienenfeld, and the head of the Tourist Board of KZŽ, Sanja Škrinjar.

The campaign “Close to the city, close to the heart” was created to create a unique platform for promoting the rich offer of Zagreb and its surroundings. The campaign has been extended to Krapina-Zagorje County and, as a destination campaign, will address emitting markets throughout the year. The website www.aroundzagreb.hr offers creative suggestions on what to see and do.
