San Canzian. Totally different.
Istria is a part of Croatia that tourists, especially those from other continents, know little about. Even local guests (from Croatia) know little about Istria and all its wonders. And there are still comments like; ‘there is no sea for me there’ or ‘you have nowhere to swim in the sea’ or the fantastic one ‘it’s not Dalmatia.’ It’s not.
It doesn’t even want to be. Istria wants to be Istria.

I came around noon, left my things in the totally divine room, and set off for the pool. I didn’t get there directly, although everything is a few steps away. I couldn’t help but put my things away and take photos…I want to absorb, to remember, and save those moments of unreal beautiful nature that surrounds me…

San Canzian consists of small indigenous houses collected as whole that still looks like an ‘old Istrian village.’
But, this luxurious Istrian hotel and village surprise you at every moment, whether with the sophisticated rooms interior or fantastic bathroom necessities like Molton Brown. I can still smell the combination of mixed fragrances of mandarin and clary sage. You need to know Istria to choose these fragrances; sage so Adriatic, and mandarin so the Mediterranean.
And yes, in San Canzian you’ll be served with the private label olive oil, selections of local dishes, sophisticated modern dishes, some very successful ‘fusions’ of local and contemporary.
And of course, here is a cellar, basement rather impressive.
Choose either Istrian or any other wine, it will slide down the palate just as San Canzian slides through all the senses to settle somewhere in the body, and there remains for all time.

San Canzian is a luxury hotel in Istria. Croatia. And when you come to Croatia, do not take away that pleasure, those moments that will remain yours forever, do not take away San Canzian. Experience its diversity and authenticity, its scents and sensations.
