Stuffed bell peppers is a traditional Croatian dish whose recipe is passed on to generations. Follow the simple cooking steps and find out why it is considered to be one of the most delicious home-made gastronomic dishes!


8-12 smaller bell peppers / paprika,1/2 kg minced meat (250 g lamb and 250 g pork),50 g rice,1 medium-sized onion,1 kg fresh tomato pulp,pepper,parsley,basil,salt,1 tablespoon flour


Fry finely chopped onion in oil until translucent. Mix into minced meat (combination of lamb and pork) onion, rice, salt, pepper, finely chopped parsley and mold into mass. Rinse bell peppers and deseed. Fill them with stuffing. Place peppers into the pot, pour over tomato sauce as to cover them, season with salt and basil branches. Wait to boil, then simmer on light heat for an hour. (depends on pepper size) Once finished, thicken with one tablespoon flour.

Practical tip:

Serve the dish with baked or mashed potatoes on the sided.
