Croatian football players delighted us with their great success in 2018 FIFA, and Croatian tennis players also made us very proud this week. We can say that June was the Month of Croatian tennis, and the 24th of June the day of Croatian Tennis.

Marin Čilić won the ATP tournament in Queens, in a dramatic final result of 5: 7, 7: 6 (4), 6: 3. For Marin Čilić this is the first title this year and the 18th overall. This is the second time in his career that he defeated Novak Djokovic and winning the ATP in London he moved up and at the moment he is the fifth world tennis player with 5060 points. The fourth is del Potro leading 20, and Nadal with 3710 points.

The same day, Borna Ćorić defeated the world’s leading tennis player Roger Federer in ATP Halle 2018. A great day for Croatian tennis ended in the best possible way with a double triumph.

After a great day of Croatian tennis players, there was also a change on the ATP tennis ranking list.

The conquest of the tournament in Halle, won by Borna Ćorić by defeating Roger Federer, brought young Croatian tennis player a great jump – Ćorić is the 21st world tennis player and this is his best career ranking. On the other hand, Federer, after this defeat from Ćorić, gave away the first place on the ATP ranking to Rafael Nadal.
