The new hub of Zagreb’s urban scene, the Zonar Zagreb Hotel, opened its doors, creating a unique experience of connecting with people and the city.
Finally, Zagreb got a hotel that offers more than luxury accommodation.

Modernly decorated, excellently equipped, and creatively conceived, it gathers a young urban audience while offering rich content. It became an indispensable station before a night out because Yammat FM – Zagreb’s favorite radio station – took care of the excellent music and atmosphere. With many DJs, we will enjoy a new edition of entertainment combined with a taste for the design we have been missing all along.

What is urban, and why does Zonar stand out from the other luxury hotels?
Since the first W hotel was opened in New York in 1998, really long ago – we have been wishing for something similar in Zagreb. And now we finally got a perfect spot for those who appreciate such hotels and their philosophy.

W Hotels was launched in 1998 with W New York, a conversion of the former Doral Inn hotel on Lexington Avenue, Manhattan. It quickly became popular as a New York City nightclub. Identifying a gap in the market, Barry Sternlicht, CEO of Starwood Hotels 1995–2005, created the brand that popularized the lifestyle hotel concept of focusing on fashion and design. Sounds familiar?

Fabular, the award-winning branding agency, stands behind the new brand strategy, the name Zonar Zagreb, as well as the slogan “The Earth Never Stops Moving, Neither Should You” while the visual identity of the hotel was designed by the Bruketa&Žinić&Grey agency, inspired by constant movement as a hotel concept.

How does this slogan describe the concept of the Zonar Zagreb Hotel?
In addition to 285 meticulously designed and well-appointed rooms and suites, the striking interior is accompanied by equally exciting and diverse facilities. With two restaurants, a bar, a deli shop, a swimming pool on the roof with a panoramic view of Zagreb, a gym, and nine multipurpose conference rooms, the facilities offer real opportunities for socializing, conducting business meetings or enjoying entertainment and special culinary events.

Zonar Zagreb’s contemporary architectural solution and design were inspired by postmodern architecture and the urban lifestyle characterized by the dynamism of movement. Its renovation concept was designed by the architects of Zagreb’s renowned Studio UP, which has won numerous awards in modern architecture and urbanism.
Previously known as the Panorama Hotel, Zonar showcases a unique hotel’s interior transformation, with added value and the creative approach of versatile artist Silvio Vujičić and the synergy of the architects.

Has someone mentioned food?
Zonar Zagreb is guided at all levels by the needs of guests and all the people of Zagreb who want to experience something creative and unconventional. With that in mind, the hotel will house the Skinny Pig restaurant, with dishes divided into four elaborate nutritional menus (Energy, Carb-free, Fitness, and Sin), the Skinny Pig Steaks restaurant with a terrace, serving top quality fish and meat steaks, and the unique Cherry Pop Bar with a swimming pool on the hotel’s rooftop.

The approach to food is entirely different from the current offer, and in a way, it reminds us of “Skinny bitch”.
Skinny Bitch is a diet book by former modeling agent Rory Freedman and former model Kim Barnouin; a no-nonsense, tough-love guide for savvy girls who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous! So it’s not “don’t eat junk food “but ” eat healthy food junk food.”
It definitely leaves a New York taste in our mouths.
Instead of the usual high-calorie takeout fare, the striking takeout store Official Salmon Deli also brings natural refreshment to the Zagreb food delivery scene with special delicacies and creative fish-based dishes. The Skin2Skin hotel bar is preparing several themed events.

“We witness that the culinary experience is becoming one of the most important reasons guests choose to visit a destination. The world’s most renowned hotels have made a name for themselves through amazing food, which is why we will provide our guests with only the highest quality options accompanied by an unforgettable experience and atmosphere.” – elaborated Jeffrey J Vella, Maistra’s F&B manager, who designed the hotel’s new gourmet concept.
Zonar Zagreb, along with Hotel Jadran and Hotel International, is part of the Maistra City Vibes brand of hotels designed for a truly relaxing stay in Zagreb, a city that combines the fast-paced Central European business mentality and the laid-back approach of the Mediterranean. With the opening of Zonar Zagreb, guests can relax, rejuvenate their body and soul, and enjoy a unique regeneration zone inspired by the Downtown Athletic Club in New York and stylishly elevated by the artworks of Silvio Vujičić.

Why is it important to be creative over being competitive?
Many examples prove that you achieve the desired goal with a positive outcome when you do things differently.
Creativity and competition are often synergetic. One thing is for sure, Zonar Zagreb successfully positioned itself as a desired creative achievement with an outstanding concept compared to many amazing luxury hotels in Croatia.
