Advent in Zagreb has held the title of the best Advent in Europe for the past two years. This year the program is even more vibrant, with more than 2000 participants. Advent attracts an increasing number of tourists, and everyone can find something according to their taste.
A great selection of Christmas food and local specialties is offered on many stands that are located in the larger part of the city center. „Christmas fairy tale,“ Ice Park, and „Advent wreath“ are just some of the things you will see on Advent. The theme of this year’s advent is Orient Express, with a special exhibition located in the Croatian Railway Museum.
Zagreb Zoo and numerous cultural institutions also participate in Advent events. In front of the Cathedral, you will have the opportunity to see the live nursery. Advent is accompanied by a large exhibition by Nikola Tesla – Mind from the future, in the Meštrović pavilion. Having a better advent than most European capitals like Rome, Vienna, and Paris is a huge thing for our beloved Zagreb. The traditional lighting of the lamps on Zrinjevac is like the year before, from December 2, and the Advent of Zagreb officially ends on January 7, 2018.
