VISITORS CENTER BETWEEN TWO WATERS
The Visitor Center is located in the small Međimurje village Križovec, at symbolically named address The Square of Mađimurje Nature 1. It is the only Croatian square dedicated to nature. In the same building and at the same address is also the headquarter of Međimurje Nature – Public Institution for Nature Protection. The Center is an entering point to the Mura-Drava Regional Park.
After entering the Center’s main building, every visitor is greeted at an info desk. This is followed by a colorful circular story that flows through two modernly equipped galleries Mura and Drava, with a permanent interpretive exhibition. Modern technology has created an exceptional experience and a dynamic representation of the exciting flora and fauna of Međimurje. A souvenir shop awaits you with more than fifty different practical and decorative items and publications at the end of the tour. In the vicinity of the Center, there is an interpretation log cabin, My Oak Adam, where you can enjoy the story of the legendary oak tree Adam. Adam lived for a full 500 years. We know the story of the Adam oak thanks to the forester Ladislav Husić and his descendants. Next to the Center, there is a mini adrenaline children’s playground for large and small children. It is conveniently named Small River or in Croatian language Rječica.
The Visitor Center ‘Med dvemi vodami’ won the first prize for the interior design category
The Center’s importance is recognized by the naturalists, botanists, biologists profession, the Croatian and international public, and numerous visitors who visited it in the first year. Between Two Waters Visitor Center won the first prize for the interior design category at the most significant Croatian design event, Zagreb Design Week, in 2020. Between Two Waters Visitor Center is a must-see spot in Međimurje!
