“COURTYARDS” – a famous, internationally recognized Zagreb cultural and tourist event for the next ten days for the seventh time.
The project “grew” from Upper Town/Gornji grad – its localities, themes, stories, and traditions.
Its unique concept and creative approach won public attention and many visitor’s hearts from all over Croatia and the world.
‘Naver,’ one of the largest South Korean portals, declared “COURTYARDS” “by far the best experience in Zagreb.” The British BBC TRAVEL dedicated an entire show to it. “A real urban cool event with a soul” and “A project like Zagreb has never had” are just some of the superlatives that followed “COURTYARDS” from the beginning. The event’s success was confirmed by two prestigious awards won for the most creative and innovative project in Croatian tourism.
The Upper Town was significantly damaged in the Zagreb earthquake last year, and ‘COURTYARDS’ paused the year due to the pandemic. This year’s “COURTYARDS” are optimistic, proving that the Upper Town is still alive in the courtyard of the Balbi Palace at the address Demetrova 11, in the front atrium, and in the back yard of the National House of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts at the addresses, Opatička 18 and Dvoranski prečac 1.
The “COURTYARDS”, will be enriched with ambient decoration and catering offers and selected, intimate acoustic music providing an opportunity for many young talented people.
Entrance to all yards is free, with the prescribed epidemiological measures are mandatory.
