This unique estate is located near Bale, Istria, a sweet spot in Istria where nature is close to urban living. The narrow roads constantly take you through the “red land “to surprising locations – vineyards, hilltops, and the seaside. The iron gate of the Meneghetti estate stands right there – like they’re asking you to pause for a moment – and realize that the magic of Istrian luxury appears behind them.
The Meneghetti legacy
After Napoleon’s wars, a wise man called Meneghetti decided to buy many acres of land on today’s Meneghetti real estate. He produced food for a simple reason – to feed 6.000 soldiers who stayed within 500 meters of his estate. That’s how he could sell everything that he produced and started building houses, and barns, planting vineyards and olive groves, raising goats and sheep, and hosting Austro-Hungarian officers. That is when the Meneghetti legacy began. The reputation of one of the most beautiful estates on the Adriatic coast grew more and more.
After the occupation, former armies abandoned the land, and the owners left with them. The beautiful estate became overgrown in Mediterranean underbrush and weeds, only to be re-discovered in the early 2000s by Miroslav Plišo and his wife, Romana Kajfež. They were in search of a perfect estate in Istria for their enjoyment. They decided to bring its glory back and outdid themselves with the thoughtfully planned redesign. During the renovation, attention was given to every detail. The final result is the utmost quality and pleasing aesthetics, both in the flawless interior and magical external environment.

Dine & Wine
The story combines Meneghetti’s winery, an outstanding restaurant providing highly personalized service, and premium, world-renowned, award-winning wines and olive oils.
According to the Simonit & Sirch method, the vine is pruned by hand, which is soft to nurture the plant to achieve older age. Along with the autochthonous sorts, some international varieties that get unique characteristics are cultivated here.
