The whole story started 18 years ago in the town of Čazma where Mr. Salaj is from. The idea was to decorate the property only for Zlatko’s family. Five million Christmas lights later (yes, you’ve read it right!), the property of Salaj family has become an almost national symbol of Christmas holidays and family fun.
Operating annually from late November till early January, SalajLand is definitely a unique experience that makes news headlines every year with increasing numbers of visitors coming from all around the world. Of course, this doesn’t come as a surprise taking into consideration the popularity of the Zagreb Christmas market, which is legendary in its status, and Čazma, where SalajLand is located, is just an hour of driving from Zagreb.
