Dubrovnik Lights Up the Night

LUMIART Festival of Light and Jazz Outbreak 2025

A Spectacular November Experience in the Pearl of the Adriatic

If you’re looking for things to do in Croatia this November, look no further than Dubrovnik, one of the best places to visit in Croatia. From November 7 to 9, 2025, this UNESCO-protected city will dazzle visitors during the 5th LUMIART Festival of Light — an unforgettable celebration where art, technology, and imagination come together beneath the Adriatic sky.

Organized by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and Pixel Design, with the support of the City of Dubrovnik, the festival’s 2025 theme — “Underwater City” — invites guests to dive deep into the mysteries of the sea through breathtaking light installations and interactive art experiences.

At Croatia2go, we believe this event is a must for anyone planning a Croatia itinerary or searching for fresh Croatia vacation ideas. It’s a chance to discover Croatia through art, light, and music in one of its most iconic cities.

A City Immersed in Light and Creativity

During the festival, Dubrovnik’s Old Town transforms into a glowing stage of imagination. From Stradun to Sponza Palace, light projections, 3D mapping, and installations by international and Croatian artists illuminate the city’s timeless beauty.

Highlights include works by Hungary’s Fényhangár and Night Projection, Romania’s Ignat Radu, and Dubrovnik’s own Pixel Design, whose artistry merges modern technology with the city’s medieval charm.

The festival opens on November 7 at 6:30 p.m. in front of Sponza Palace, where Pixel Design’s spectacular audiovisual project “Genesis” will officially light up Dubrovnik’s night.

When Light Meets Jazz – Dubrovnik Jazz Outbreak 2025

This year, LUMIART Festival of Light joins forces with the Dubrovnik Jazz Outbreak Festival, creating a one-of-a-kind experience that blends light, rhythm, and emotion.

On Saturday, November 8, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., enjoy the soulful sounds of Black Coffee and vocalist Ana Uršula Najev performing live in front of Sponza Palace. As jazz fills the air, Pixel Design’s projections will dance across the city walls, turning the evening into a mesmerizing multisensory performance.

Dive Deeper – Dubrovnik Aquarium Open Days

For those eager to explore more of Dubrovnik’s underwater inspiration, the Dubrovnik Aquarium will host special Open Days throughout the festival. Don’t miss the multimedia installation “The Sound of Salt” by Vana Gaćina, an artistic tribute to the hidden symphony of the sea.

Opening Hours:

  • November 7: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.

  • November 8–9: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Enjoy a glass of local wine under a canopy of color, or relax to live jazz in a lantern-lit square — moments that define the beauty of travel in Croatia.

A Celebration of Art, Music & Magic

With support from the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Tourist Board, the Croatian National Tourist Board, and local partners, the fifth edition of LUMIART Festival of Light and Jazz Outbreak will be the brightest celebration yet.
