“The Autumn in Lika” is the most important traditional, economic, cultural, ethnic, and tourist event of international character in the county lasting for three days in October.
This event has a special significance in promoting the region’s economic and tourist potentials, presenting old crafts and trades, autochthonous production, gastronomy and ecology, and nurturing the folklore tradition. The event’s goal is to show the potential of small farms, small entrepreneurs, and all those who base their production on tradition as proven by applying old, autochthonous ways of producing food, decoration, and useful products typical for the rural heritage of the region.
“The Autumn in Lika” takes place every year in October. It passed more than 20 years ago (it was in 1998.) when the association of ZOE Zagreb and Kap života started with this significant manifestation. At that time, their biggest problem was how to attract exhibitors.
Three years later, the event became too ‘big’ for the founders, so Lika-Senj County and Gospić joined. Since then, with the high patronage of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Parliament, received many awards.
This event’s beauty can make us forget where we came from and where we are going. Spectators and participants are transferred to another time and space and forget about nowadays the corona situation.
Autumn in Lika increases interest in tourism in Lika-Senj County.
All exhibited products autochthonous and handmade by the exhibitors themselves. That’s the best way to get all the information and even all crafts and traditional production on the spot. All food products undergo reliable chemical analysis and are classified in which they sour are evaluated and prized.
