Štrigova is a village and municipality in Međimurje County in northern Croatia, located 19 kilometers northwest of the county seat of Čakovec and approximately two kilometers southeast of the Slovenian border crossing in Razkrižje.
The view of 5 countries
The entire area of the municipality is very hilly, so it is often called Upper Međimurje, and Štrigova is at an altitude of 202 meters. Everything that the modern world has almost forgotten still lives in Štrigova and its picturesque surroundings.
Lookout Tower Mađerkin breg ŠTRIGOVA has a total height of about 27.00 m, and thanks to this, during the visit to the Lookout itself, visitors are at the highest point of Međimurje, more precisely at 361 m above sea level.
Lookout Tower leaves you breathless
Let the numbers speak
27 meters high
3 minutes of climbing
104 stairs
4 sides of the world
360c views
2 years of construction
View of 5 countries: Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia
In addition to the construction of the Lookout tower, several bike races and workshops were held here, and a promotional brochure of the border area was created.
There is also a bike rest point where bicycles can be serviced near Vidikovac.
Mađerkin breg’s viewpoint was built as part of the “CSA-CycleSeeing Attractour” project co-financed from the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020 program from the European Fund for Regional Development. The leading partner on the project were the Municipality of Štrigova, and the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Štrigova, and the City of Nagykanizsa (HU).
Mađerkin breg is an attraction with one of the most beautiful views in continental Croatia, so it would really be a shame to miss the opportunity to visit it if nearby.
There are so many things in Međimurje to see, not to mention; one of the most delicious cuisines in Croatia…
Our recommendation would be – at least one weekend!
