This beloved attraction makes the usually closed-off parts of our town, secret backyards, and hidden locations open for visitors for 12 days. From Wednesday, July 13, until Sunday, July 24, visitors can peek at the facades of some of the most beautiful palaces in Zagreb’s Upper Town.

This is the 8th year it’s happening, bringing something new each year. The courtyards bring two locations premiered in 2019 as part of the National House of HAZU: the upper representative courtyard on Opatička (Opatička 18) and the lower, hidden, and special one overlooking Radićeva Street (Dvoranski prečac 1).

This season Dvorište also reveals something completely new. The courtyard of the Observatory in Pop’s Tower (on the top of Opatička), the Archaeological Garden, and the northern courtyard of the Zagreb City Museum (with an entrance from the courtyard of the Observatory) will be a part of the attraction.

Dvorište also premieres a location that could prove to be a hit. The courtyard of the Erdödy-Keglević Palace at Ćirilometodska 4, which today houses one of the residences of the Faculty of Law and was once the last home of the leader of the Croatian Revival Ljudevit Gaj and the site of his famous Illyrian printing house.

“As one of Zagreb’s most recognizable summer events, Dvorišta is a true example of how we can successfully develop city tourism non-invasive and innovatively. Namely, with a suitable and decent program, Dvorište encourages spending time outdoors, providing all visitors with peace, relaxation, and pleasant summer evenings, thereby positively influencing the development of the tourist offer of the city of Zagreb. Every year, the project is refined with novelties, so I invite the men and women of Zagreb, as well as all visitors, to take a walk through the Upper Town and enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful courtyards, which are otherwise closed to the public,” said Martina Bienenfeld, director of the Zagreb Tourist Board.

Dvorišta will again provide musical entertainment this season and provide an actual summer stage for young musicians’ talents. Visitors can enjoy music, refreshing drinks, and the dreamy setting that only “The courtyard “provides.

The event will be open every day from 18:00 to 24:00 from 13 – 24 July except for the location in Ćirilometodska, which is open from 19:00 to 24:00, and entrance to all areas is free.
